For a moment Al let Edmund think he could free himself. But as soon as he connected, he knew that he’d achieved his objective. He had the smaller cat beneath his full weight, all he had to do now was crush him.
“What was that?” He inquired innocently, around a mouthful of Edmund’s neck scruff. Tell him again, Edmund, what he wasn’t the only one to do?
As far as blows went if was exceedingly gentle, just the slightest pressure of Al’s teeth on either side of Edmund’s spine. But it would be a fatal blow if he closed his jaws. Combat won, and Edmund subdued entirely beneath him.
