Edmund fought for his landing, but in this form fortunately, his balance was impeccable. He crouched low as he gained his footing, and rather than wait around to see if Al would pounce on him, he sprang right out of the landing into another launch at the big Lion. He couldn't maintain this fast pace, but a series of fast moves were less expected and gave Al less time to recover too.
If and when Al chose to use his full weight against him...that was when Edmund might falter, his body less powerful than before, and he'd never been one of the physically strongest of the Great Cats. Now, he had to dodge a direct blow, keep himself agile and moving. Which was also taxing, over time.
