No, Al wasn’t going to blame Edmund for this, he blamed himself, for not staying. For not helping him through this transition.

“Who told you that?” Al asked softly, turning his hand to take Edmund’s. “You’re more than just — biology, Edmund. You don’t need anything you don’t want.”

Yes, many omegas chose an alpha. And vice versus. But didn’t as many choose betas? Or to remain alone entirely. Al wouldn’t believe Edmund had no other options, just because of a bite from that thing.

The Edmund he knew would have yelled at him for daring to presume he knew better what he “should” sound like. This one agreed with him, and blamed what — biology?
