Al quickly realized that Edmund was angling for more than just a game of tug. It wasn't surprising, really, not when they were in fur form, rolling together like this -- Al should have expected it.
But Edmund wasn't a lion. And Al wasn't heat blind. There were so many reasons he shouldn't, couldn't be with Edmund. It didn't matter that Edmund was king. Peter would never understand. The whole pride.
Al ducked his head, shifting away from Edmund, slowly rising to his feet. He didn't want to dump Edmund off, but he needed space between them. Fresh air.
"I should still -- I need to get back to work, your majesty."
