Mothers are wonderful people. Full of kindness and unconditional love. And every mother is beautiful. It's fitting that there's a day to celebrate everything they do for us, although really, shouldn't we do a little bit back every day?

[Just when you think he's grown up. He hugs her back, or, more appropriately, kind of makes a big circle around her with his arms.]

[Laughs and hiccups and sniffles and punches his armour somewhere around his bellybutton.] Stupid Elrics, all you care about is food.

[Ed would probably go off about stupid Rockbells and their stupid automail, but not Al.]

We like alchemy, too.

[The punch makes a hollow clanging noise, but he still flinches back like he really got sucker punched. But he doesn't stop hugging her.]

I have to think about automail, because otherwise you and Ed wouldn't come close to being kids and normal and teenagers again. I have to think about automail, because it's the only way I've of helping you!

And it's not like I have time to think about boys, lately. Not even when you both left.

Like I could think about anyone else! I worked with Grandma Pinako on automail, and automail always reminds me of him, and then the rest of the day I kept waiting for a phone call or a letter, but nooooooo, the high and mightly Fullmetal wouldn't spare that, because all he sends home is cheques!

[Okay, so he won the fight to marry Winry, and he does have a crush on her, but some days he has to admit his life would be so much more interesting if Brother married her. He puts on his best innocent face.]

But Winry, every time we see you you're so happy about how much we're going to pay you!
